A flagship of culture in the local sense, the only operating cinema in Madona, “Vidzeme” has opened its doors to both popular and alternative films since its renovation in 2014!

The cinema hall has 186 seats. The "Vidzeme" cinema is equipped with a Barco 2K projector and a Dolby 3D system. You can order an individual showtime.
Madona's cinema "Vidzeme" started its operation in 1962 as a very modern cinema with two box offices and 352 seats. The first movie that was shown in the cinema was "Meiteņu pavasaris". It was a special movie with stereo sound at the time. At that time, the Madona district cinema directorate operated in the cinema, which organized cinema showings throughout the Madona district. More than 60 employees worked as cinema mechanics, their assistants, cashiers and drivers in the Madona district cinema directorate. The movies were shown in 46 places in Madona district. Madona's cinema directorate ended its activity in 1992.
The cinema is open and easily accessible at any time of the year.

The box office is open on movie showtime days one hour before the first showtime. The box office closes 15 minutes after the last show.
