Savvaļa (In the wild)

“Savvaļa” is a procedural event – a free exhibition in a wild area between Dūķi and Jaundrusti, without working hours and caretakers, it is created as an experience that you can immerse yourself in for 15 minutes or stay for a week.

Savvaļa is located in the area around the workshop of artist Andris Eglītis and includes a wide natural area with forests, meadows, swamps and lakes. Countless, mostly slowly disappearing works of art are located there. Most of the territory is improved to the extent that it does not spoil the wild "nature" of the area. Enthusiasts can spend the night in a tent, in a car or under the open sky right there on the territory of the site.
The exhibition area is accessible, safe and interesting for children. Since the nature area is very wide, we invite you to evaluate how much of the available range is suitable for your family.
The area is accessible to a large number of visitors, there is a small parking area nearby, which is also big enough for one bus.
Several dozen works created by artists from the Baltic countries, mainly Latvia, can be found in the territory. The artists' works are placed on a specially designed and challenging route, which will bring visitors the joy of meeting both art and nature. Throughout the summer, "Savvaļa", in cooperation with the association "Ascendum" and the internet portal "Satori", is running workshops "Savvaļas darbnīcas". At the base of the exhibition - the central point - you will see maps, a library and some NOTEBOOKS OF WILD, created by the internet portal "Satori" together with Latvian authors in 2020 as literary notes of contemporary prose and poetry about closer and more distant connections with the exhibition.
