The territory of the Gatarta manor is an ancient settlement, which is made beautiful not only by the manor park, but also by other buildings of the village.
Gatarta manor was established at the end of the 18th century by the owner, officer and chamberlain of Drustu Parish, Nikolay Kristofs Hagemeister. The manor was inherited by his sons, who sold it to artillery lieutenant August Ferdinand von Hagemeister. The next heir was the son of A.F. von Hagemeister, Voldemar Hagemeister, who was the last owner of the Hagemeister family in Gatarta. The manor was bought by Adolf Sievers after his death. It was inherited from him in 1905 by his son Victor von Sievers, who owned it until the agrarian reform in 1922, when the manor was expropriated and divided into more than 50 new farms, leaving the former owner and his son a small share. In the Kārlis Ulmanis era, the Gatarta manor was given to Jānis Greble, a knight of the Lāčplēsis Order, who lived there until 1941, for his merits in the freedom struggle. After the Second World War, the Gatarta village council and library were housed in the manor castle.

The first buildings in the Gatarta manor complex were built by Nikolay Kristof Hagemeister in 1786 and 1787. A. F. von Hagemeister started the construction of masonry buildings, which were completed in 1824. Elements of both classicism and baroque style were used for the buildings of the manor. Nowadays the buildings of the Gatarta manor, although partially rebuilt, have preserved their original architectural forms. They are slowly being restored. The complex includes a castle, 20 buildings and a park. The total area of the manor complex is 8.9 hectares. On the highest hill there is a castle with a park. Next to it there is a gardener's house, built at the beginning of the 19th century, a granary, a stable and a warehouse at the foot of the hill, built at the beginning of the 19th century, and a pub. On the other side of the Drustu - Jaunpiebalga road, there is a manor house and a complex of outbuildings
