Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church of Suntaži

The church in Suntaži is one of the few churches of our time on the homepage of “Vidzemēs”. It appeals with its slightly peculiar, even constructive building form compared to most modern religious buildings.

A wide range of visitors can view the church from the outside. Accessible from the inside during the service on Sundays.
In 1996, the construction of the church began under the leadership of Jānis Miller, who was a resident of Suntaži. Then the works were temporarily stopped, but in 2006 they resumed. On July 19, 2009, the church was consecrated in the presence of His Eminence Cardinal Jānis Pujāts. The most luxurious decoration of the church is the altar, built in the French Baroque style. Since 2009, the bell has found a new home in the Suntaži Catholic Church. Until then it has been with the believers of Ilūkste in joys and sorrows and has invited them to church services for 225 years.
The place is available at any time of the year.
