Latvian flag mast in Rātskalns
Latvia has become richer thanks to this additional place of interest. The funds are donated by local residents and passers-by and now a national flag of considerable size flies almost on the border of Ogre and Cēsis municipalities!
The flag is located on a geological formation of a narrow ridge. A fabulous view opens up in all directions from Rātskalns, which is the highest part of this ridge in Zaube.
The hunting and fishing club "Pērkons" decided to set up a special place for the national flag on Rātskalns, the highest peak of Kliģene in 2018. It was made for the celebration of Latvia's centenary. On the afternoon of November 18, the flag was hoisted on the 18-meter-high mast on Rātskalns. The mast is made of composite material, the flag is 3×6 meters in size.
