Krustkalns observation tower
This is one of the places where you should always stop and climb when driving along the P82 highway or near the Krustkalni nature reserve!
The territory of the Krustkalni nature reserve, the slope of the Madona - Trepe ravine and the Dūku - Svēte depression with lakes can be seen from the 25-meter-high metal tower. At the "foot" of the tower you can see the lakes – Mazais Plencis and Lielais Plencis. There is an opportunity to get to know the other natural values of the Krustkalni nature reserve. The visit must be coordinated with the Nature Protection Board and must be accompanied by a guide.
The place is suitable for visitors of different ages. Please note that the climb to the tower is steep.
The place is suitable for small groups. The tower's load restrictions must be observed. No more than 10 people can be on the tower's viewing platform at the same time.
The place is available at any time of the year. However, it should be taken into account that in winter the metal structures tend to be icy and climbing the tower may be prohibited.
