The life of the local people during the 40 years of the existence of the Taurene collective farm is reflected on the second floor. Sports achievements can be seen in photos, medals and memorabilia. The visit must be booked in advance.
A small conference hall for up to 50 people and a concert hall for up to 200 people are available for events.
The manor belonged to the Panders family until the agrarian reform of the Free State of Latvia in 1922. During the revolution of 1905, Nēķens Castle remained intact due to the humane management of the Panders family. The story shows that Nēķens farmers and servants confronted the arsonists. The current building ensemble of Nēķena manor was built in the second half of the 19th century, replacing the previous, approximately 100-year-old building. The manor house was built according to the project of the architect R.G. Šmēlings in the 1980s, when Heinrich Panders was inspired by the architectural forms of the Italian Neo-Renaissance villas. The manor complex includes a manor house, twenty outbuildings and a park. Currently, the Taurene rural territory administration and cultural center are located in the manor building. This is why the manor can only be viewed from the outside.
The manor complex can be viewed from the outside at any time of the year.
