Lielkrūzes – a farm
“Lielkrūzes” is the first farm registered in the land registry of Jaunpiebalga rural territory. It has been continuing various biodiversity and environmental development projects for decades. And, by the way, the place hosts thousands of guests a year in his stunning farm.

Lielkrūzes is one of the first organically certified farms in Latvia. This is confirmed by the label "Latvijas ekoprodukts". The owners own over 150 hectares of wonderful, scenic land consisting of 7 different grassland habitats. The farm owns 77 ha of forest, which are designated as micro-reserves, as they are home to protected bird species. The farm was awarded the highest award mark in the forest industry "Zelta čiekurs" for sustainable forest management. The farm is the pioneer of organic pond farming in Latvia. On an area of 11 ha, 15 species of fish have been propagated and grown, and 1.5 tons of carp, tench, zander and other fish are obtained every year. Lielkrūzes has been awarded the title of the most beautiful farm on several occasions. Safe swimming areas and space for campers are available.
An environmental awareness education center is being created in the ethnographic farm with training in natural biotopes and farm management. Lectures, seminars, training sessions and study tours of the organic farm are held. The farm is open for cooperation with various educational, research institutions and lifelong learning centers. The place is open to all generations.
Visiting the farm and excursions for groups from 5 to 50 people are available with prior application.
A stage, canopies and area rental are available for summer seminars, sports games, field seminars, gatherings and wedding ceremonies. Groups of companies and organizations with up to 1000 participants can be accommodated. A great place for photo sessions.
"The busy Gauja dwarves work hard" on the farm as the winter solstice approaches. "Winter's Tale" is a heartfelt emotional event for children, families, schools and institutions.
