You can run marathon or half-marathon distances from Taurupe station to Suntažu or Ērgļi stations. The exact distance starts 2 km along the embankment before the railway station "Taurupe" towards Riga. Find more details about the marathon here, on the "Vidzemēs" website.
In 2020, the station was bought by Andris Pētersons, the long-time former dean of the Faculty of Communication of the business university "Turība", who together with his associates has been organizing the running event "Taisnais" since 2019. Read more about Andris in the "Human Stories" section.
The station was converted into a stopping point a few years before trains stopped running on the Ērgļi line. Railway traffic on the Riga - Ērgļi line was stopped in 2007. The tracks were demolished in 2009.
Taurupe as a station was opened in 1937, along with the opening of the Suntaži-Ērgļi section of the Rīga-Ērgļi railway line.
The place is available at any time of the year.
