Ievalčupīte trail
The Ievalčupīte river flows through beautiful, ancient, hilly forests and lakes; it has its own trail that intersperses with others in this seemingly untouched, naturally preserved environment!
Ievalčupīte is an always active river of a changing course that flows through an ancient, picturesque forest. The course of the river has eroded the path between the hills of Dzerbene and managed to connect four lakes with each other, thus forming a subglacial lake chain, which is a great rarity against the general background of Latvia.
An easy trail along the river is available for less than 2 km (blue and white paint), but there are several other trails in the area of the lakes. Please follow the markings. The tracks go through wetlands, so we recommend you wear appropriate shoes.
It is recommended to visit the place only for small groups of under 20 people. The road may not be suitable for larger vehicles.
