Kalsnava arboretum is one of the rare places in Latvia where you can see more than 300 conifers of different species and varieties. In the month of June, shortly before the "Ligo Festival", one of the largest publicly available collections of peonies in the Baltic states blooms. The collection delights visitors with more than 280 different varieties, whose colour tones change from light pink to distinct yellows and dark reds. The garden of rare trees can also be viewed from above by climbing the 25-metre high wooden observation tower, which offers a unique panorama in every season. Historical plantations are also available. They were started in 1975 with the aim of conducting scientific research on various foreign trees. There is also a particularly beautiful labyrinth of conifers in the area.
The territory is available for viewing individually or with a guide. Various thematic events and educational activities for different target groups will take place. You can get recommendations about nearby attractions and service providers in the well-organised information centre.
Kalsnava arboretum is suitable not only for adults, but also for children, especially during the flowering period in spring and summer. The observation tower is also interesting for children. The arboretum regularly hosts thematic events for families. Accessible to people with mobility impairments.
The place is suitable for a large number of visitors.
A camper parking area with electricity connection, sanitary facilities and rest areas is available in the territory. There is a fee for parking.
In the arboretum, seminar rooms are available for rent (up to 60 persons), outdoor terraces for rent (up to 25 persons), as well as places for marriage ceremonies.
