The building also houses the exhibition hall of the Rauna Museum/Rauna Museum, as well as the Rauna Parish Library. In the exhibition hall (entrance through the Rauna library) you can view various temporary exhibitions, which are changed 1-2 times a year. In the very center of Rauna, in a small square between the Rauna parish administration and the bus station, illuminated stands of the Nature Gallery are available for viewing by residents and guests, where exhibitions related to Rauna's history and the modern day can be viewed. Stands are freely available for viewing at any time of the day without restrictions and free of charge. Nature gallery exhibitions are changed twice a year.
The place is suitable for visitors of different ages.
Up to 13 people can stay in the hostel. It is located in the city center and is easy to reach.
In the 1930s, the building housed a factory goods store, a hairdresser, a bakery, a butcher's shop, and a liquor store. The living rooms of the Plūme family were located on the second floor of the building. In 1947, a branch of the Cēsis bookstore was opened in this building, which operated until 2001 and gave the Plūme house its new name – "Bookstore". In the 1990s, several shops, a pastry shop, and a cafe-bar operated in the buildings. The building on Rīgas iela 2, together with other buildings in the center of Rauna, can also be seen in the famous Rīga Cinema Studio film "A gift to a lonely woman", shot in 1973. The film shows the exterior of the building with the inscription "Restorāns", where Nora Bumbiere and Viktors Lapčenoks performed the famous song "Rudacīte".
The hostel offers a double VIP room (2 beds) with a private bathroom, a double room (2 beds) with a shared bathroom, a three- and four-bed dormitory room with a shared bathroom. A buffet lunch and various special national dishes are offered daily in the accommodation area. Breakfast is available daily upon request. Guests also have a kitchen with a refrigerator, a sink and a microwave, while each room has a desk. A sauna is available.
The hostel is located in the very center of Rauna. It is located in a building known locally as the Plūme House or Bookstore. The building was built in the second half of the 1920s by Rauna businessman Jānis Plūme as a shop and apartment building. In 2011, the building became the property of the Rauna County Council, and in 2014, building reconstruction works began, which were fully completed in the autumn of 2020.
