The surveyor's mark embedded in the foundations of the mill house, which shows the year 1897, shows the respectable age of the object. The stories show that the farmers living in the area wanted to build their own mill so that they don't have to carry the grain far to grind it. Then they collected the money, built a mill and created a pond on the small Risene river. A house for the miller and a barn were also built. The miller is said to have been a merry man and balls with dances were often held in the mill. The mill burned down during World War II, and the equipment was taken away. It is also said that a collective farm boss wanted fish at the beginning of the Soviet era. Then nets were put in the Risene river and the dam of the pond was blown up. Then the fish with all the nets went to the nearby Ogre river and the boss was left alone. The beautiful mill pond, where the famous water lilies once bloomed, was overgrown with alder trees. In Soviet times, a shop was set up in the miller's house. They traded vodka, beer and bread. Fish were sometimes brought on Thursdays. The bushes in the overgrown pond were perfect for disposing of the empty bottles. The collective farm used to keep 15 cows in the barn, but the farm girls from Belarus lived in the attic of the 2nd floor of the house. The inscription painted on the door of the room said that it was a hotel. The roof of the house was leaking, the floors were gnawed by rats, the barn had already been raided. There was no more room for broken bottles in the bushes, there were two bomb pits in the yard that served as a dumping ground.
The place is available at any time of the year.
