The Doll’s House of Arnolds Burovs

Every single part of the “Doll’s House” has a fairy tale atmosphere, and you may well come across a cartoon character of the famous puppet master Arnolds Burovs (1915-2006).

Arnolds Burovs (1915 - 2006) was the founder of Latvian animation. In 1995, Burovs was awarded the Order of the Three Stars. He lived in this house in the summer and now and then he came in the winter over a 30- year period. The current owners of the house are the Indriksons family.
The Doll's House offer includes a tour around the "Doll's House" of the father of Latvian animation Arnolds Burovs, watching an animated film and a quick "doll workshop".
The place is suitable for a large number of visitors, but the offer must be applied for in advance. Next to the "Doll's House" there is a picnic area by Sudzērdiņa Lake, a shelter, a swimming area, boats, catamarans, accommodation, and a sauna.
In 1966, he created the first puppet film studio in the Riga Film Studio. In 1966 he shot the first Latvian animation film "Ki-ke-ri-gū". The master also created such well-known films as "Si-si-dra", "Bimini", "Vecā sētnieka piedzīvojums", "Umurkumurs", "Vanadziņš" and others.
