Madliena Local History Museum “Bet tā bija!”

“Bet tā bija!” (“But it was so!”) is an apt description of the life courses of Madliena residents in different eras and different social and political systems depicted in the museum.

The museum is suitable for visitors of different ages.
The museum is available for small groups by prior application. The place is not suitable for oversized transport.
The museum is located in the Plāteres primary school built in 1868 in the former center of Plāteres rural territory. Antons Benjamiņš, the first Latvian press magnate and millionaire, and composer Kārlis Kažociņš worked here. Seven permanent expositions have been created for viewing in the museum, which can be viewed every day by applying in advance. Currently, the permanent exhibition "The Bolshevik System's Brilliance and Destruction" is located in the museum. The exhibition can be viewed every day by prior application. There is a museum collection near the museum.
