Arona mound and spring

The territory of Arona Pilskalns has been revived by local enthusiasts. Now, it is one of the most pleasant stopping points in the Vidzeme highlands.

The mountain and its foot have been cleaned, a well-equipped Ledavots water intake point has been established, and bonfire places have been arranged, various types of swings are there, meadow labyrinth patterns are being created, and the tradition of green balls has been revived. A beautiful panorama opens up from the mound.
The territory of the mound belongs to Lauris Galiņš, however, the mound and the spring are available to everyone. There is no admission fee, visitors are invited to leave a donation. For years, Lauris has proven his perseverance to give people the opportunity to visit the area. He is open to anyone who does not lack interesting, exciting ideas. The area has attractions made from recycled materials. There are swings made from tires and ropes.
The territory and the spring are accessible to a large number of people, there is a well-equipped, spacious parking lot at the mound.
Late Iron Age mound. In the past, the hill was called Ārone hill, after the nearby river Ārone. When the river was renamed Ārone, the name of the hill was also adapted to it.
In the winter months, an ice fountain of impressive size is formed on the spring, sometimes it reaches the height of a multi-story house.
