Piltiņkalns

There is a magical holy place on the top of a steep hill. The history of the place cannot be fathomed, but its beauty and influence are sought by many visitors from Vidzeme highlands and other places.

At the top of the hill there is a special "information" place, a point of "masculine and feminine balance", the Yumya symbol and the marks of the hill priests. A spiral trail is walked around the hill in a clockwise direction for nine circles. The trail is 5 km long. It goes around the hill in nine circles and symbolises a passage through all stages of development from the lowest to the highest. In about an hour, the location of the walking trail was determined by the energy of the positive geopathic zones. The trail leads to a special place at the top, which is the divine information center. A labyrinth has been created on the southwestern slope, which is called the "Tree of Life" because its shape resembles a branched oak tree. On the left side of the hill there is a green Dragon fir tree (Pūķegle), which got its name because of the many "heads". The small fir trees grow on each of the biggest branches and the trunk has three tops. The holy Grīnu spring is also nearby.
Piltiņkalns is considered by many to be a holy place, an energetically powerful place. Latvian annual festivals are regularly held in Piltiņkalns. Scholars, shamans and Sufis also often come here. Buddhist monks have visited several times. Piltiņkalns has been managed by the association "Tautskola 99 Baltie zirgi" for about 20 years. There is the founder Ojārs Rode together with his family and colleagues in the association.
The place is available for visitors of different generations.
The place is suitable for a large number of visitors.
The name Piltiņkalns is said to have originated as a diminutive form of the word pilskalns (which means mound in Latvian): pīlite, pilņš, piltiņš, Piltiņkalns. The hill may have once been an ancestral mound. However, archaeologists who have surveyed the hill have not found anything to indicate a mound. This is reinforced by the following saying. They say that in earlier times they wanted to build a castle on this hill. People from all over were invited. However, everything that was built during the day, the ravens broke at night. They worked hard for a long time, but they could not build the castle. Only the earth rampart (terrace) is left from the time when the castle was built.
Esoteric events can be organized in Piltiņkalns. Application for the event is mandatory.
