“Zem Ķenča cepures” – Jaunpiebalga market square
In Jaunpiebalga, even in our times, there is a strong ancient trade, which is quite active on Saturdays or on various special market days, mostly related to the ancient Latvian calendar.
Various artisans, homemakers, plant and household goods dealers, who can also be found on site, trade in the market.
A wide variety of highland delicacies and artisan products from Vidzeme and further afield is often available at the market.
The place is available for visitors of different generations.
The place is available for a large number of visitors. A parking lot has been built near the market.
The market was built according to the model of the ancient, authentic drying barn of Piebalga. It was opened in 2014 and won the 3rd place in the nomination "Landscape" for "The best building of the year in Latvia 2014".
The place is open even in the cold season, but the biggest variety of products is on Saturdays.
