Aizupes – a farm

There is a farm in the heart of the Vidzeme highlands where all kinds of delicacies grow, which turn into organic products and hearty meals!

Aizupes was founded in 1990, and the farm uses organic methods. The farm is a family business, which is managed by Jānis and Silvija Garbovski, who handle all the tasks themselves. Read more about the Garbovski family in the "Human stories" section.
Tasting and purchase of products are available at the organic farm. Herbs, vegetables and fruits are grown and processed here. Dried products of "Aizupes" spices or vegetables (cabbage, carrots, onions, sugar beets, apple flour, tarragon, hyssop, oregano, thyme, parsnip roots and seeds) will be useful for every housewife. Lilac-colored sauerkraut and the farm’s special product - sweet apple candies "Gardumiņš", made from apple flour, carrot syrup and chocolate, are gaining popularity. The homemade bread baked in "Aizupes" is increasingly gaining in popularity. Dark rye, sweet and sour bread and various types of white bread are available. Sometimes customers are also treated to homemade bacon rolls. The bread is fermented in ancient wooden kneading troughs, each loaf is made by hand, and baking takes place in proper wood-fired ovens. Mint tea or dried apple compote are also offered depending on the weather.
Visiting the farm and snacking is suitable for guests of all ages.
Catering is available for groups of 10 people or more. The hostess recommends trying vegetable cutlets, stewed cabbage, bread soup and other local products.
