Abrienas – guest house

In Abrienes, you can take a moment, relax and not only recover the energy lost during the daily grind, but also replenish it for a long time.

The guest house is located at the foot of the wooded Abrienas hill. Viešūra Lake and Bolenu spring are also nearby, as well as Gaiziņš itself.
The Latvian army chaplain Pēteris Apkalns built the building in 1936 as his summer house. During the Soviet period the beautiful house was left without an owner in a quiet forest. Then it was used for a long time by the management of the Madona district as a discreet recreation base and restaurant. Therefore, it has remained in the minds of people of the middle and older generations as the restaurant "Sniega Viešūris". A lot of people from Madona have romantic memories connected with it. At the very end of the Soviet period, forestry was located here for a short time. At the beginning of the 90s, "Abrienas" was recovered by the son of Pēteris Apkalns - Longīns Apkalns, who lives in Germany, and whose daughter Monika set up a guest house here. The guest house has perfectly preserved rooms and wall paintings, tastefully and individually decorated by the talent of interior designer Monika Bauzenas.
There are 6 rooms available: 4 double rooms and 2 family rooms. Each guest is treated like a fairy tale prince or princess - the surroundings are the first prerequisite for you to feel comfortable and royal here. The guest house has a sauna, a pond, and professional bath attendant services are also available.
The holiday home is perfect for the snowy season, it fits perfectly into the landscape and brings its benefits.
